Our Priorities
Our dogs are our hunting partners as well as family members. That means well-behaved in the house and sociable with people, children and other dogs.
We believe conformation is important, both in the show ring and in the field. Our dogs must meet the FCI standard and be free of hereditary defects (OFA certified). We strive to produce hunting partners with natural hunting, pointing, tracking and retrieving ability; and excellent temperaments.
We believe bird dogs must have these three basic qualities:
•Desire - A dog with strong drive and desire should be focused on searching for and finding game.
•Nose - A dog may have all the desire in the world, but it must have “a nose for game” to locate birds when they are present.
•Biddable - Again, the dog may have the desire to hunt and a nose to match, but it should also be eager to please and easily controlled.
Our dogs are rigorously hunted during the bird season and tested in the off season in North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA), American Kennel Club (AKC), and United Kennel Club (UKC) field trials. We know they can find birds!
